    Composites: The Future Materials

Mankind has moved from Stone Age to metals and now Advanced composite material which is engineered for specific applications

At Autodynamics, with our professional & technical expertise; we are committed to bring the Innovative, Cost Effective, Technically Advanced Materials & Products which prove to be the superior materials than the metals for critical applications in terms of resistance to the Corrosion, Weight Reduction & very Low Thermal Expansion.

We are experts in Thermoset Composites & have products catering the needs of various Industries in the Electrical, Defense, Railways, Chemicals fertilizers etc etc to bring down costs and better utilization of resources. Our Products meet all the international Standards for Technologies we have adopted. These products are light in weight, Durable, Shock Proof, Fireproof, Rust proof & Safe.

    What are composites?

    • Composites are the combination of natural or artificial materials compiled together to form a new material which retains or improves the physical & mechanical properties of the constituent materials.
    • Composites can be selected & custom designed for the desired material properties by selecting the proper combination of constituent materials.

    Advantages of Composites:

Composites are able to meet diverse design requirements with significant weight savings as well as high strength-to-weight ratio as compared to conventional materials. Some advantages of composite materials over conventional one are mentioned below:

    • Tensile strength of composites is 4 to 6 times greater than that of steel or aluminium.
    • Lower weights:
      • 30% reduction compared to Steel enabling the User benefits as – Fuel economy, Leading to use of better engines with less noise and heat creation
      • 30-45% lighter than Aluminium Structures designed to the same functional requirements
    • Higher fatigue endurance limit (up to 60% of the ultimate tensile strength).
    • Lower Program Cost
      • Tool Cost Reduction - 35 to 65% over Steel, Aluminum and Plastics
      • Parts consolidation - savings in part cost and assembly costs
      • Savings in welding lines and ED coat lines
      • Shorter time to the market –lower tool manufacturing time
    • 30-45% lighter than Aluminium Structures designed to the same functional requirements
    • Lower Handling Cost
      • Dent Resistance & Corrosion Resistance
      • Coefficient of thermal expansion same as steel – On line painting
    • Lower Handling Cost: Strength of steel and plastic Moldability
    • Better Noise, Vibration & Harshness (NVH) properties: Composites are less noisy while in operation and provide lower vibration transmission than metals
    • Composites are more versatile than metals and can be tailored to meet performance needs and complex design requirements
    • Long life offers excellent fatigue, impact, environmental resistance and reduced maintenance.
    • Composites exhibit excellent corrosion resistance and fire retardancy.
    • integrated design compared to conventional metallic parts.

Advantages of composite FRP Material Over, Metals & other Polymers:

    • We can provide the products from the following Technologies…
      • Hand Lay-up
      • Pre-Preg Forming
      • Compression Molding
      • Vacuum Bagging
      • Filament Winding
      • Pultrusion
      • Spray Method
      • Sheet Molding
      • Bulk Molding
      • Resin Transfer Molding

Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM):

In this Process, a premixed liquid thermoset resin is injected into a dry fiber perform in a closed mold. As the liquid spreads through the preform, it coats the fibers, fills the space between the fibers, expels air, and finally as it cures, it transforms into the matrix of the desired shape. This is a versatile process and can fabricate products with embedded objects such as foam cores or other components in addition to the fibre preform.

The Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM) Process

Advantages of RTM
  • Aimed designs & Lower Weights
  • Lower Production Cycle Time
  • Compatible for Large & Complex Items
  • High Finish Quality & Fibre Direction
  • Good Mechanical Properties:
  • Lower Tooling Costs compared to Compression Molding
